About

Why Bay Area TrboTalk Network

  • Allows for system-wide roaming between sites
  • Allows 3rd party applications integration
  • Allows user-to-user communication
  • Allows multiple talk groups
  • Secure spectrum with no interference

Bay Area TrboTalk owns and operates both a digital and an analog wide-area network. The network offers centralized trunking  providing dispatch service on 10 separate mountaintop sites covering a large geographic area in Northern California utilizing LTR Analog, Capacity Plus and Connect Plus Digital Platforms.

We hold FB8 Exclusive-use Frequencies

Good spectrum is the foundation of any quality wide-area radio network. We hold licenses to a large spectrum of non-shared, exclusive-use frequencies offering a 40 mile FB8 protected service area. FB8 is a valuable designation that comes with an FCC license stating that the licensed radio facility has a protected service area. That’s important because a system with a protected service area can handle the most users. On frequencies below 470MHz, most business and industrial two-way radio users share the frequencies with other users. Each user must monitor the frequency before transmitting and wait if the frequency is busy.

On our FB8 non-shared, protected frequencies your service will maintain low latency, high reliability and maximum accessibility. These exclusive-use frequencies allow home channels to always be accessible for channel assignments, no electronic monitoring is necessary. This maximizes system access and system capacity for long-term reliability and customer satisfaction.

True Business Class Network Infrastructure

Other carriers are using consumer-grade ISP network connections to link their sites together. The Bay Area TrboTalk network is built around a Business Class Infrastructure offering higher levels of reliability, greater security and extremely low latency. There are additional costs for this type of service, but the benefits are better voice quality and QoS. Having both conventional and digital networks is a big advantage as well allowing customers the flexibility to choose the most efficient option given their needs.
